Power cords that dwindle!
OK the entity itself works like a champ, practically blows Ice cubes at you. The fatal flaw with any GE apartment air conditioner is the POS cord with
built in interuptor. The first unit I bought work great last summer. Pulled it out the subsequent spring,, no workie. GE sent a new unit out. When it showed up the plug end was cracked in shipping. It ran first-rate for about two months then it just died. Again the dang interupter on the power cord failed only this but the warranty just ran out, OF COURSE! What a bunch of garbage.

No. GE was purchased by Trane. I was a overhaul mechanic for a GE dealer at the time and attended regular GE aid meetings at the time of which I speak. Trane made some really delicate industrial equipment but their residential line was a bust. Residential and residential design engineers are two different animals. Trane bought the whole shooting correspond, factory, workers, engineers, everything. In my opinion it is one of the top units on the bazaar. If I was going to buy one or sell you one, it would be a Trane.

I have a General Electric Air Conditioner and the slim control seems to have screwed up the touchpad controls, when I press reset, it doesn't do anything, it virtuous restarts the computer. The remote control doesn't work anymore, it's like the meagre control screwed up the whole system, like the Air Conditioner pad froze and it's stuck on one milieu.
Try un plugging the a/c part for 5 mins. then plug it back in. This should reset the unit.

I flaming in a small apartment and I have a small wall mounted air Conditioner, I bent it on, it seems to get cold and blow cold air for a while, but then it just shuts off and doesn't get on for a long time, but it isn't very cold in the room.. How can I make it running backstay on constantly? The Brand name is General Electric, I looked, but I can't find the Model number.. I destitution it to stay on Constantly.. Can I tweak the Thermostat? or something like that? dialect mayhap move it away from the apparatus? I jut don't know...
limit your air filter on the unit, and clean it if necessary. a dirty purify will prevent air from moving over the evaporator coil, which will lead to high-priced refrigerant pressures in the system. there are safety devices within the ptac element that will shut off the compressor when excessively high or low refrigerant pressures are detected. they're called exhilarated and low pressure cut-outs, and it generally takes quite a while, anywhere from 30 mins to 4 hours for these to reset, depending on the skin temperature. if your filter is clean and it still doesn't cool the field properly, the evaporator and condenser coils should be cleaned. your alimony personnel should be able to clean those for you, as special tools are sometimes required.
